The City of Santa Clarita is encouraging community members to attend the final High-Speed Rail Meeting happening on Tuesday, June 9, at 10 a.m. at the Ronald Reagan State Building Auditorium in Downtown Los Angeles.
Now that the High Speed Rail Authority has completed community meetings along the Palmdale to Burbank project section, the Board will meet to hear final thoughts on which alignments will be included in the environmental review phase. This is the final opportunity to advocate our desire for appropriate, fully underground alignments that will not negatively impact communities or neighborhoods.
The City has arranged to provide a free transit bus to the Board meeting, departing at 8 a.m. from Santa Clarita City Hall. Seats are limited so please RSVP by calling Matt Levesque at 661-255-4902 to reserve your seat.
The California High-Speed Rail Authority Project is a high speed rail system that will connect from San Francisco to Los Angeles at speeds up to 200 miles an hour.
The project is currently on track to ravage the Sand Canyon neighborhood, Sulphur Springs Community School, Pinecrest Elementary School and Church of the Canyons.
